This Week in Disney News: DVC Sales at Polynesian Village, Sorcerer’s Hat Coming Down, and New Ticket Offers

DisneyÕs Polynesian Villas & Bungalows at DisneyÕs Polynesian Village ResortAs we run headlong into the month of January, more than 85,000 runners were participating in the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon weekend. Congrats to all the participants!

Speaking of the Marathon Weekend, runDisney announced earlier in the week that New Balance was releasing a new series of running shoes at the marathon’s Expo. The shoes were inspired by Steamboat Willie and featured a black and white design.

January 7 was the day that the construction walls went up around the Sorcerer’s Hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The hat has been the symbol of the park since 2001.

Tomorrow – January 12 – is the day sales open for Disney Vacation Club members at the new Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows located at Disney’s Polynesian Village. There are 20 over-the-water bungalows in addition to 360 Deluxe Villas at the resort and the first phase opens April 1.

In honor of the College Football National Championship Game between The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the University of Oregon Ducks, Disney launched another TV ad starring the college’s mascots.

Walt Disney World announced a new ticket offer for Florida residents while Disneyland released a new ticket offer for residents of Southern California.

Guests at Walt Disney World can also purchase new retail MagicBands and accessories, including a cute 2015-dated MagicBand featuring Mickey Mouse!

And finally, there’s a new animated series headed to Disney Channel! Miles from Tomorrowland debuts February 6. We can’t wait for this one!
