This Week in Disney News: Star Wars Weekends, Frozen Fever, and Princess Half Marathon Medals

Star-Wars-Weekends-06-682x1024It’s been another busy week in the World of Disney, but perhaps the biggest news was the announcement of the dates for the 2015 Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Once again in 2015 the very popular weekend event is happening for five consecutive weekends beginning May 15.

The dates for the Weekends are:

  • Weekend I: May 15-17
  • Weekend II: May 22-24
  • Weekend III: May 29-31
  • Weekend IV: June 5-7
  • Weekend V: June 12-14

Reservations are also being accepted for the two special dining events during Star Wars Weekends – Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine In at Hollywood and Vine and the Star Wars Galactic Dine-In at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. Both of these special meals occur from May 15 through June 14, not just on the weekends!

And just in case you haven’t had your fill of Frozen news lately, there are a few new things to report. First, runDisney has released the medals for the 2015 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend and they all have a Frozen theme. Second, Disney announced last week that the all-new animated short Frozen Fever will debut in front of the live-action Cinderella beginning March 13. And finally, guests in Disneyland will have a chance to enjoy ‘Frozen Fun’ – an all-new entertainment option starting in January.

Guests can get a sneak peek of Frozen Fun on December 20 at Disney California Adventure.

Just in time to finish your holiday shopping, the Walt Disney World Resort is hosting a slew of special merchandise events throughout the month of December. And don’t forget to stop by several of the resort hotels to check out their special holiday gingerbread displays!

Speaking of food (sort of!), our friends at the Disney Food Blog are reporting that it looks like Be Our Guest at the Magic Kingdom will be offering a table service breakfast starting February 25! You can’t make Advance Dining Reservations yet, but keep an eye on the Disney Food Blog and they’ll keep you posted!

Those are the top stories for the week, but keep an eye on DisZine this week as we report on more of the biggest Disney news! And be sure to follow us on Twitter and like us over on Facebook.
