dvc villasWe’re inching ever closer to the holidays, and Walt Disney World is in full-on celebration mode right now with holiday parades, parties, and merchandise.

Hanukkah starts this week and if you happen to be at the Walt Disney World Resort you’ll find some new Hanukkah-themed merchandise in the parks.

This week was full of resort-related news at Walt Disney World. First, our friends at Disney Hotels Fan have some great photos of the refurbished pool at the Wilderness Lodge. The pool is now fenced in and they’re still in the process of building an all-new kids’ splash zone.

Over at the All-Star Music Resort the Intermission Food Court reopened after a four-month-long refurbishment! Check out some photos here, and be sure to stop by the Disney Food Blog for an in-depth review of some yummy looking menu items!

And in one more bit of resort news, Disney released artist renderings of the new over-the-water bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. These DVC bungalows are just part of the DVC area at the resort – there will also be villas, including the first-ever Deluxe Studio 360 villas.

In corporate Disney news it was announced that Meg Crofton, president of the Disney Parks’ operations in the US and France, is retiring as of June 1, 2015.

And because we can’t let a week go by without some Star Wars news, it was being reported this week that any new Star Wars-themed attractions at the Disney Parks will be based on the new films and spinoffs, not on the original series.

Those are the top stories for the week, but keep an eye on DisZine this week as we report on more of the biggest Disney news! And be sure to follow us on Twitter and like us over on Facebook.
