Tower of Terror Lawsuit Against Walt Disney World Dropped

In 2009, a $15 million lawsuit was filed against Walt Disney World by a woman who alleged her daughter suffered permanent brain damage after riding the Tower of Terror. Now, sources have reported that the lawsuit was voluntarily dropped.

Leanne Deacon initially filed the lawsuit claiming her daughter collapsed after riding the attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. After her harrowing experience, Deacon filed a suit against the media giant for $15 million, saying that was how much it would cost to care for her daughter for the rest of her life. Deacon also said that Disney failed to provide adequate warnings about the dangers of the attraction.

Now, the lawsuit has been voluntarily dismissed, which could mean the parties were able to reach an out-of-court agreement regarding a settlement. However, further details are unlikely to be available if this is the case.
