Tron Trilogy, TV Series, and Theme Park Attraction

Blue Sky Disney is anticipating that Tron Legacy will be huge for Disney. Huge. And that the resulting success could be morphed into a film trilogy not including the original 1982 Tron.

If all goes according to plan you could see this as the first in a trilogy of films that start with the word “Tron” and end somewhere else… Legacy is only the beginning. There are preliminary plans to milk this into a franchise of “Pirate” proportions. And the buzz from it so far is very good.

Additionally, plans are on the table for a computer animated Tron television series slated for 2011/12. No word yet on which channel it will debut.

Flynn's Arcade from Tron LegacyAnd your theme parks might change, too. Tron merchandise will be readily available throughout Tomorrowlands across the country, and ride and attraction developments are already being drafted. These might come in the form of a “Flynn’s Arcade” next to Space Mountain, an immersion experience as a part of Disneyland’s suggested 60’s anniversary expansion, or something else completely…
