tokyo disneyThere are some major changes on the horizon for the theme parks at Tokyo Disney Resort.

Oriental Land Co., Ltd., announced the planned improvements this week and they include new themed areas in Tokyo Disneyland and a Frozen themed port for Tokyo DisneySea.

The Fantasyland redevelopment at Tokyo Disneyland will feature two news areas themed after Beauty and the Beast and Alice in Wonderland. The areas will feature new attractions, restaurants, and merchandise locations as part of the “overall redevelopment.”

The Fantasyland redevelopment is planned to begin after the fiscal year 2017. The redevelopment of Fantasyland will nearly double the size of that area of the park.

Guests visiting Tokyo DisneySea will eventually be able to visit a redesigned port area with a Scandinavian theme – which actually means a Frozen theme. This area will also include attractions, restaurants, and shops in the port area, all with ties to Frozen.

The redevelopment of the port area at DisneySea is also expected to start after the fiscal year 2017.
