Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Honored with Several Awards

awardWalt Disney Parks and Resorts was recently honored with several Thea Awards from the Themed Entertainment Associated (TEA).

The awards recognize the “outstanding achievements in the themed entertainment industry in addition to the creative talent behind each attraction or experience.”

Disneyland’s it’s a small world received the Thea Classic award which is given to attractions that have withstood the test of time and endured for more than 20 years. The incoming TEA president Steve Birket said the attraction is a “timeless classic” and is a “metaphor for our increasingly global industry.”

Bistrot Chez Remy at Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris was the winner of the Award for Outstanding Achievement – Themed Restaurant. And the Wilderness Explorers at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was the winner of the Award for Outstanding Achievement – Interactive Park Attraction on a Limited Budget.

The TEA is a non-profit association that represents the world’s leading creators, developers, designers, and producers of places and experiences. The 21st annual awards will be handed out at the Disneyland Hotel on March 21, 2015.

Another Disney park was honored by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). The ‘Once Upon a Time’ show at Tokyo Disney Resort won a Brass Rings Award for Live Entertainment Excellence. The show was named the Best Multimedia Spectacular.
