Walt Disney Records to Release Spanish Language Versions of Popular Titles

In order to better serve their Hispanic audience, Walt Disney Records will be releasing five Spanish language albums of some of their popular titles, including the digital soundtracks to Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. Additionally, the company will be releasing two Song & Story titles and a collection of Disney Princess songs.

The Disney Princess album, Canciones de las Princesas, features Spanish versions of songs from popular Disney movies such as Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog and much more. Mexican talent Danna Paola, who recorded the Spanish version of “When Will My Life Begin” from Tangled says:

I’m thrilled to have collaborated with the team at Disney on the track ‘Cuando Empezare a Vivir,’ from the movie ‘Tangled’ (‘Enredados’). It was a fantastic opportunity to be part of the magic behind this love story.

The Beauty and the Beast soundtrack will feature 16 tracks, including 10 songs in Spanish, 5 scores and the title track performed by Mijares and Rocio Banquells. Meanwhile, The Lion King soundtrack will include 12 songs in total, six of which will be in Spanish; four score cues and two version of Elton John’s classic “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”

Cathleen Taff, the SVP/GM of Disney Music Group, says “[they are] thrilled to offer Spanish-speaking families an additional way to experience the magic of Disney music in their native language.”

All five albums will be released March 20, 2012. For more information about these releases, please visit Disney.com/music.
