Walt Disney World Resort to Reopen Saturday, October 8

magic kingdomAs Hurricane Matthew continues its trek up the southeast coast, it appears that the Orlando area was spared the full force of the hurricane overnight.

The Walt Disney World Resort was closed all day Friday, October 7 – the fourth time in the resort’s history that it closed – but all theme parks and Disney Springs will reopen on Saturday, October 8.

All four parks will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Disney Springs, the water parks, and the mini golf courses will resume normal operating hours.

Other details:

  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom will have Extra Magic Hours starting at 7 a.m. Saturday.
  • Frozen Ever After at Epcot will open at 8 a.m.
  • Characters in Flight will remain closed at Disney Springs through October 9
  • Events scheduled through October 8 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports have been cancelled
