Winners Announced for Walt Disney Imagineering’s 2015 Imaginations Competition

imagineers Disney recently announced the winners of the Walt Disney Imagineering 2015 Imaginations design competition.

The winning team hails from Ringling College of Art & Design and their project was called “The New Orleans Double Rail.” The project was created as “a symbol of hope for a city whose greatest challenge is its location below sea level.”

Students in the competition were tasked to apply Disney magic to transportation within a major city. Six teams were chosen as finalists and visited Walt Disney Imagineering in California where they could meet with and work with Imagineers.

The team from the Art Center College of Design was awarded second place for their project “The Wunderkinds” which focused on transportation in Zurich.

And the third place team was from Drexel University with the “Woollahra” project which connects several districts to a main station in Sydney, Australia.
