Woman Sues Disney World Over Injuries Sustained on Jungle Cruise Ride

Stacey Holdorff has filed a lawsuit against Walt Disney World for injuries she sustained while attempting to disembark the Jungle Cruise ride.

Holdorff was celebrating her daughter’s sixth birthday at the Magic Kingdom earlier this year when another boat rammed into the back of the boat she was attempting to leave. Holdorff was thrown backward as a result of the collision, while her daughter slammed into her father’s chest. A Disney Cast Member was also injured during the collision.

Holdorff was taken to the hospital and sustained neck and spinal injuries. Because of her injuries, Holdorff’s attorney says she has been unable to return to work as a licensed medical aesthetician. Furthermore, she cannot sit or stand for long periods of time or lift heavy objects.

Longtime annual passholders, Holdorff said her daughter refuses to go back to Disney World after the horrific incident. Says Holdorff:

Disney was a place we celebrated many milestones. It was her favorite. Watching her mom being carted away in an ambulance was devastating to her. She doesn’t want to go back.

The lawsuit seeks damages of more than $15,000, and a jury trial is currently being sought. We’ll let you know more about this impending lawsuit when more information becomes available.
