Dining at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Dining opportunities at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge abound. If you are in the mood for authentic African cuisine, give one of their signature restaurants a try.

At Boma – Flavors of Africa, diners are treated to a buffet-style breakfast or dinner in an environment designed to replicate an African marketplace. All of the dishes served here are designed to reflect the authentic flavors of over 50 African countries, including breakfast pastries, potatoes, quiche, vegetarian dishes, traditional African dinners, fire-grilled meats and seafood and more.

For a more unique experience, Jiko – The Cooking Place combines African, Indian and Mediterranean cuisine in a gorgeous environment. Watch the chefs prepare each meal live on stage in the show kitchen, and choose from a variety of vegan, vegetarian and meat-based dishes that change with the seasons. Some of the seasonal offerings can include grilled lamb, curried potato and corn samosas, flatbreads, roasted chicken and shrimp curry. The restaurant also offers one of the most extensive collections of South African wines in North America for adult guests to sample.

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas in the Kidani Village, stop by Sanaa for a taste of African and Indian cuisines for lunch and dinner. Meaning “artwork” in Swahili, Sanaa lives up to its name by preparing artfully designed food and serving it in a beautifully decorated restaurant with a gorgeous view of the savanna.

Sanaa also offers a special dining event called “Dine with an Animal Specialist.” During this special event, you will be served a 4-course lunch while learning about the different wildlife that inhabit the grounds.

Located near the pool area, The Mara offers a fast, casual dining experience serving an array of foods to choose from. Breakfast, lunch and dinner selections are offered, including soups, salads, flatbreads, chicken and beef dishes, desserts and drinks. The “Grab and Go” market offers a selection of cold beverages and snacks, such as granola bars, yogurt and fruit for visitors on the go.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge also has a pool bar, called the Uzima Springs Pool Bar. Located next to the pool, this full service bar offers smoothies, exotic frozen beverages, beer (both domestic and South African specialties) and an assortment of South African wine and liquors. Non-alcoholic beverages, such as soft drinks and frozen blends, are also available.
