Dining at Disney’s Polynesian Resort

The cuisine available at Disney’s Polynesian Resort runs the gamut from American cuisine with an Asian twist, to quick service favorites like classic burgers and fries. Whatever you’re craving, you’ll find something for everyone at this resort.

Stop by the Kona Cafe for an Asian twist on American favorites during breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast, choose from savory creations like egg dishes, pineapple macadamia nut pancakes and more. At lunch, munch on an Island chicken sandwich, shrimp and scallops, house made sweet potato chips or other tasty treats. Dinner brings plenty of beef, chicken and seafood choices for the hearty eater who doesn’t mind an adventurous taste.

Kona Cafe also has an on-stage pastry kitchen, where you can watch chefs whip up a variety of sweet treats to finish your meal. You can also enjoy a cup of authentic Kona coffee with dessert or your meal.

Adjacent to the Kona Cafe, there’s Kona Island – a quick-service coffee bar featuring authentic Kona coffee, tea, pastries and fruit for breakfast. During the evening, you can sample a variety of fresh creations as the coffee bar transforms into a sushi bar. Sample a shrimp tempura roll, Volcano Roll, sashimi and more, and pair your meal with a cocktail, glass of wine or sake.

For a signature meal in a tropically-decorated restaurant, stop by Ohana. Meaning “family” in the Hawaiian culture, Ohana lives up to its name by serving family-style meals during dinner. Plate after plate of Polynesian specialties will be brought to your table, including a variety of skewers grilled over an oak fire pit and plenty of appetizers and side dishes, like fried dumplings, stir fried veggies, and salad. The festive atmosphere also encourages guests to get up and dance to Island music, play with hula hoops, and watch coconut races.

Ohana doesn’t just offer dinner, though – in the morning, you can enjoy their Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. Join Lilo and her pal Stitch for an American breakfast with Polynesian influences. Island style fried potatoes, scrambled egg dishes, Hawaiian sausages, fresh fruit, breads and more are available to start your morning. Just as with dinner, Ohana serves their breakfast meals family-style.

If you just want a light sandwich or snack during the day, Captain Cook’s Snack Co. has you covered. Choose from assorted cereals, oatmeal, fruit and hot beverages for breakfast, or cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, pork sandwiches and more for lunch and dinner. They also offer a selection of salads, sushi, flatbreads and stir fried noodles. A special children’s menu as well as soft drinks are available to accompany your meal. Don’t forget to grab Disney’s signature Dole Whip while you’re there!

For family-style meals and live entertainment, don’t miss Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. Located on the Seven Seas Lagoon, this open-air covered dining theater will entrance you with live performances and authentic South Pacific music and dance, as well as the always popular fire-knife dance. As you watch the entertainment, you’ll feast on family-style platters of authentic Polynesian cuisine like barbecued pork ribs, smoked chicken, Polynesian-style rice and vegetables and other traditional favorites. Beer, wine and sodas are also included – and don’t forget to try the dessert!

If you’re waiting on a table at Ohana or just want to relax after your meal, Tambu Lounge is the perfect place. With both bar and table seating, as well as a large-screen t.v. broadcasting various sporting events, you can enjoy an appetizer or drink while people watching or socializing. The full-service bar offers a huge variety of specialty drinks, as well as an extensive wine list, espresso bar and cappuccino specialties. Light appetizers are also available.

For guests who would rather relax poolside, don’t forget the Barefoot Pool Bar located by the Nanea Volcano Slide. Specialty cocktails, such as the Pina ColAVA, Mango Margarita and Captain’s Mai-Tai are available as well as a selection of beer, wine and non-alcoholic specialties. A few bar snacks are available as well.

No matter where you dine at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, you will find something to suit anyone in your party.
