Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort opened in 1999, and is one of four Value resorts located within the Walt Disney World Resort. The All-Stars Movie Resort pays homage to some of the greatest Disney films of all time, with giant icons representing such films as Toy Story, The Mighty Ducks, Fantasia, The Love Bug and One Hundred and One Dalmations.

All of the 1,920 guest rooms are divided into 5 pairs of three-story buildings, each building themed after one of the featured movies. For example, the Toy Story section of the resort features a 47 foot tall Buzz Lightyear statue, as well as a 30 foot tall Woody icon and a 27 foot tall bucket of Green Army Men! Available guest rooms include standard or preferred rooms, and both room types may have a courtyard, pool or parking lot view depending on availability.

When the munchies strike, guests can head over to the World Premiere Food Court. Here, you’ll find a variety of American fare from omelets to pasta, as well as plenty of other breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites. The food court was designed to resemble a grand movie theater lobby, and each food court station features a movie marquee to complement the theme of the overall design. Additionally, guests are able to order pizza, salad, sandwiches, dessert and beverages to be delivered directly to their guest room during the evening.

There are also several recreational activities available at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, including a picturesque 1 mile jogging trail that circles the hotel grounds. Additional outdoor activities include a children’s playground, located between the Toy Story and Fantasia sections of the resort, which features plenty of slides, swings and other gym equipment for the little ones. Bigger kids may enjoy the Reel Fun Arcade with its selection of pinball and video games, located adjacent to the World Premiere Food Court.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort also features two swimming pools, and the main pool is themed after the Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Fantasia. The second pool is slightly smaller, but is shaped like a hockey rink after The Mighty Ducks. Guests can also stop by Donald’s Double Feature, which is located in the Cinema Hall building, to pick up Disney merchandise and other vacation sundries.

Transportation to and from Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is also quick and convenient, and connected by bus to all of the major theme parks and other Disney areas, such as the Downtown Disney Area. Transportation is complimentary for resort guests.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is one of four Value resorts offered in the Walt Disney World Resort area, and features affordable accommodations and plenty of recreational activities to amuse guests while they aren’t at the parks. The resort also is one of many within Walt Disney World Resort to be recognized by the Florida Green Lodging Program, in recognition of the resort’s environmentally responsible practices, and continues to be an affordable way to enjoy a Disney vacation on a budget.
