Disney Makes Donation to Toys for Tots for the Holidays, Ends 2012 With More Than $292 Million in Donations

A few weeks ago, we let you know about how Disney and its wonderful VoluntEARS donated both toys and their time to the charity Toys for Tots this holiday season. In addition to this generous donation, Disney also announced recently that the company donated $150,000 to the US Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Foundation.

Of the $150,000 that was donated to the organization, which collects new toys and distributes them to less than fortunate children, $100,000 was specifically allocated to help children that were affected by Hurricane Sandy. In addition to the monetary contribution, Disney also held toy drives for the charity that resulted in the collection of over 50,000 toys.

This contribution is one of many that Disney made this year to various charities and causes. Disney recently announced that the company donated over $292 million in 2012 to projects and communities around the world through cash, product, and in-kind donations. Additionally, Disney VoluntEARS logged 586,259 hours over the year volunteering for various nonprofits.
