Disney VoluntEARS Spread Holiday Cheer around the World

Disney VoluntEARS have been celebrating 30 years of service this year, and during this holiday season they have been continuing to donate their time around the world.

Walt Disney World Resort VoluntEARS collected and donated more than 32,000 new toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program. The toys, games, and books will be given to children in Orange and Seminole counties in Central Florida.

On the other side of the world, cast members from Shanghai Disney Resort and Imagineers visited a local children’s hospital where they made holiday decorations with the children. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse made a special appearance and delivered gifts to the kids.

VoluntEARS from Aulani also visited two local hospitals in Hawaii bringing Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy along with them.

Cast and crew members from Disney Cruise Line have been visiting kids at schools, hospitals, and children’s homes in the Bahamas and Caribbean, while Hong Kong Disneyland VoluntEARS made 300 paper holiday wreaths for children in need.

At the Disneyland Resort’s annual holiday party for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s), VoluntEARS hosted nearly 400 kids and their families. The party features a 35-foot long Yule Log and a 7-foot-tall gingerbread creation inspired by ‘it’s a small world.’

This year also marked the 60th anniversary for Walt Disney Imagineering and during the year, Imagineers have worked on 60 outreach efforts in the communities where Imagineering operates. This month marked the completion of the “60 for 60” initiative.
