Disneyland to Eliminate Plastic Straws, Lids, and Shopping Bags Starting this Week

commitment-to-conservation-chart-reduce-plastic-straws-274x600Disney recently announced a conservation initiative that includes eliminating single-use plastic straws, lids, and shopping bags at Disney properties worldwide.

This week at Disney World, it’s been reported that guests at table service locations are no longer receiving straws, but can still request them (kids are still being given straws).

And starting this week, Disneyland Resort will eliminate all single-use straws, lids, and plastic shopping bags from all locations on property.

Guests at Disneyland will only be given single-use plastic straws when requested and plastic lids for adult-size beverages will no longer be available.

The plastic shopping bags in merchandise locations will only be available by request also.

Another step in this conservation initiative includes eliminating disposable toiletries in the hotel rooms (many hotel rooms already have refillable soaps, shampoos, and more in rooms).
