Disney’s Aulani Resort to Hire 800 Employees

As Disney works to complete the finishing touches on the forthcoming Aulani Resort & Spa, the company will need to fill 800 jobs before the resort opens to the public.

Aulani Vacation Club Vice President Djaun Rivers says that “we’re looking for people who are genuine who have the heart to deliver the Hawaiian story and deliver great service.” Ideally, the resort is looking to hire locals to fill most, if not all, of the open positions.

Hawaiian native Arlene Kalani, who just landed a supervisory role overseeing housekeeping and custodial operations, says “I think its great for all the people that live on the islands of Hawaii because Disney is a great, well-known brand, and I’m really excited to be here and a part of the opening team.”

As part of the hiring process, potential employees who apply to work at the Olelo Restaurant on property will be required to speak only in Hawaiian. 25 spots are available for this restaurant alone.

Elliot Mills, general manager, has this to say about the type of employee Aulani Resort is looking for:

We’re looking for people with some experience with great attitudes and I think the people of Hawaii have that ability, their hospitality is genuine so we’re hoping to also have great skills set out there so the people of Hawaii can fill them all.

Interested parties can access job applications via aulani.jobs, and an Aulani representative will also be available at a job fair May 18 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center.
