First ‘Limited Time Magic’ Events Announced for Walt Disney World and Disneyland

Can you believe that we’re just a few days away from the start of 2013? As we let you know a few months ago, Disney Parks will be celebrating throughout the new year with a brand-new promotion, Limited Time Magic. With the new promotion scheduled to begin with the new year, Disney has now announced the first special limited-time events that guests can look forward to at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland this January.

In Walt Disney World, Limited Time Magic will kick off with a special New Year’s Eve celebration that will extend far past midnight on December 31. From January 1-5, Tomorrowland in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will be celebrating New Year’s Eve all day long with the new “Bling in the New Year” celebration. The celebration will give kids of all ages the chance to ring in the new year with a very special dance party, featuring Disney characters dressed up in their New Year’s Eve outfits and live entertainment. For those who don’t want to stay up until midnight, the party will feature a New Year’s countdown every hour leading up to midnight.

Over in Disneyland, Limited Time Magic will begin with a celebration and the return of a very special Disneyland attraction. As we let you know earlier this month, Disneyland will once again celebrate Three Kings Day from January 4-6 at the park’s Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree. However, Disneyland also announced this week that to kick off Limited Time Magic, the park will pay tribute to Disneyland’s classic attraction, the Golden Horseshoe Revue.

“A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue” is inspired by the beloved Disneyland show that ran at the park from its opening in 1955 through 1986. The new show will pay tribute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue through song and dance performances to such songs as “Hello, Everybody,” “A Good Man Is Hard to Find,” “Belly up to the Bar” and “Can-Can,” and will be hosted by Miss Lily and her Saloon Girls. Show director Randy Wojcik says:

“Of course, it would be impossible to completely recreate that original show without the talents of Disney Legends such as Betty Taylor and Wally Boag. But ‘A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue’ promises to honor that classic production and celebrate a truly historic venue in grand style.”

The show will run at Disneyland Park every Thursday through Monday from January 10-February 4.

In addition to these Limited Time Magic celebrations, Disney also announced that 2013 will be “The Year of the Ear” for the parks. Each month, Disney Parks will release brand-new ear hats, starting with some special hats from Disney Couture in January.
