More Florida Real Estate, Is Disney Crazy?

While the foreclosure rate in Florida is going through the roof, most people think that now is a great time to forget about building in Florida. Disney appears to disagree. The company today unveiled plans for it’s Golden Oak Luxury Homes. With home sites going from 1.5 to 8 million dollars, these properties aren’t for your casual Disney fan.

While they only plan to sell 30 of the home sites this year, the plan is for the community to eventually include 450 homes as well as a Four Seasons Hotel. As usual Disney is focusing on presentation and consistency:

Disney will allow home buyers at Golden Oak to hire their own architects, but they will be restricted to such styles as Venetian, Spanish Revival and Tuscan.

The first homes are planned for completion in 2011, however with the current climate in Florida housing anything is possible.
