Movies News – ‘Toy Story 4’ is Happening and ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ Gets an Official Title

Toy StoryIf you’re a fan of Disney/Pixar films or Star Wars – or both – this was definitely your week.

Two big movie related stories broke from the House of the Mouse on November 6. First, it was announced that Star Wars: Episode VII has an official title – The Force Awakens.

The film wrapped its final day of shooting on Thursday as the announcement was made. Don’t get too excited though – the film still has many months of post-production ahead and it doesn’t arrive in theaters for another year.

Which means Star Wars fans have 13 months to figure out exactly what ‘The Force Awakens’ might mean for Han, Luke, Leia, and the rest of the galaxy.

Meanwhile in a galaxy not so far away news broke that John Lasseter is returning to direct Pixar’s Toy Story 4. Walt Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger made the announcement during a discussion of the company’s fiscal year results.

When we last saw Buzz, Woody, and friends they had said their goodbyes to Andy as he went off to college. Which means Toy Story 4 should bring all new adventures to the gang.

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will reportedly be reprising their roles at Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Lasseter said he came up with the idea for Toy Story 4 with Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, and Lee Unkrich – the team behind the first three Toy Story films.

Toy Story 4 will arrive in theaters in June 2017 according to reports, and Star Wars – The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
