New ‘Monsters University’ Line of Merchandise Roars into Stores as Movie Opens in Theaters

To celebrate today’s theatrical release of Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, a new line of innovative products inspired by the movie has been released by Disney Consumer Products.

Partnering with companies such as Spin Master, Fisher-Price, and others, Disney Consumer Products has licensed more than 1,000 products including action figures, playsets, plush figures, apparel, accessories, home décor, books, and more. There is an additional exclusive collection available at the Disney Store and DisneyStore.com.

“Disney Consumer Products worked closely with our licensees to create products that capture the creativity and humor of Monsters University,” said Josh Silverman, executive vice president of global licensing, Disney Consumer Products.

Kids can practice their scaring skills with a Sulley Monster Mask that uses facial technology allowing kids to move Sulley’s eyebrows and lips. Or, scare away other monsters with My Scare Pal Sulley and My Scare Pal Mike by Spin Master. University Kids Collection also has a line of Monsters University inspired T-shirts.

The Disney Store is selling the Monsters University Speak N Scare Action Figures that work in tandem with a free digital app. Kids can rate their own roar or enhance it using different tools. The app will also sync with the action figures to control their scaring actions. Fans can also find fraternity and sorority bean bag plush characters at the Disney Store, sold with corresponding pins. And no summer road trip would be complete without the MU rolling luggage set direct from the campus of Monsters University.

Monsters University opens in theaters today. The Monsters University collection is available now at retailers nationwide, at the Disney Store, and DisneyStore.com.
