‘Peter and the Starcatcher’ to Move Off-Broadway This March

A few months ago, we let you know the disappointing news that Peter and the Starcatcher will be closing on Broadway later this month. However, this tremendous production will live on past its closing date. This week, the play’s producers announced the exciting news that the show will be opening off-Broadway this spring.

Peter and the Starcatcher will transfer this March to New World Stages, an off-Broadway theatre complex that has been home to such other Broadway transfers as Avenue Q and Million Dollar Quartet. Based on the book Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, the wildly inventive new play opened on Broadway last spring and went on to earn five Tony Awards. Prior to its Broadway debut, the show played off-Broadway at the New York Theater Workshop.

No casting or official opening date has been announced yet for the show’s off-Broadway transfer. From now through January 20, you can still see this innovative production on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.PeterandtheStarcatcher.com.
