The Walt Disney Company Signs Multiyear Deal with DirectTV

disney channel logoThe Walt Disney Company has signed a multiyear distribution deal with DirecTV which gives the satellite broadcaster rights to online video services from ABC, ESPN, and Disney Channel.

The deal means that DirecTV subscribers will have access to Disney content on their televisions, smartphones, tablets, game consoles, and other devices.

DirecTV’s previous deal with Disney was set to expire at the end of this year.

DirecTV’s subscribers will have access to live and video-on-demand programs from all ESPN and Disney networks in addition to ABC stations. The deal also includes the ‘Watch’ services from Disney in addition to ESPN3 and the SEC Network.

The deal also includes the launch by DirecTV of Fusion, Longhorn Network, ESPN Goal Line, and ESPN Buzzer.

Disney now has agreements with the top 10 pay-TV distributors in the country.
