The Week in Disney News – New runDisney Costume Rules, New 2016 Merchandise, and More

marathon pictureWe did it! We made it through the first week of the New Year! Disney news was starting to pick up this week so let’s dive right in and see what happened.

Perhaps the biggest news last week was the announcement of new costume rules for runDisney races. Participants can no longer wear items like Jedi robes or costumes that surround the entire body, like the Death Star (only at Disney would rules like this make sense).

The Walt Disney Studios announced its 2016 slate of films and it featured several animated features, a Star Wars prequel, and an Alice in Wonderland sequel.

We also saw the release dates announced for the next five Star Wars films, including prequels and anthologies.

In merchandise news, several Alex and Ani bracelets are being retired this month to make way for new designs. And, guests will find new 2016-dated merchandise at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
