In the wake of the deadly alligator attack at Disney’ Grand Floridian earlier this week, Disney is taking steps to make the resort beaches safer.
According to several online report Disney contractors were spotted erecting temporary fences at the shoreline at both the Grand Floridian and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Signs warning “Danger! Alligators and snakes in area. Stay away from the water. Do not feed the wildlife” are also going up along the shore.
Disney had signs at every beach in the resort stating “No swimming” but they didn’t mention the wildlife that could also likely be present in the water.
In a statement Disney said: “We are installing signage and temporary barriers at our resort beach locations and are working on permanent, long-term solutions at our beaches.”
Two-year-old Lane Graves was killed by an alligator this week as he waded in the water at Disney’s Grand Floridian. It was the first alligator-related death in the history of Walt Disney World Resort.
