Atlantis Productions to Launch the Asian Premiere of Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ Musical

25 February 2012 No Comment

In collaboration with Music Theatre International, Atlantis Productions will stage the Asian premiere of Disney’s Aladdin. The musical will be closely based on the film, and feature music from Oscar winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Oscar Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin.

Says Bobby Garcia, the creative head of Atlantis Productions:

We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Disney Theatricals with their brand new stage musical Disney’s Aladdin, which only recently premiered in the United States. We are honored that Disney has handpicked us to premiere the musical in Asia. We look forward to creating the enchanting world of Agrabah and the romantic Arabian nights where Aladdin and Princess Jasmine take flight on their magic carpet ride. It will definitely be the musical event for families in 2012. We can’t wait to begin.

Performances will begin in November, and casting will be announced at an undetermined time. We’ll keep you updated when we have further details to share.
