D23: The Official Disney Fan Club has announced the dates for the 2019 D23 Expo. The 2019 event is planned for August 23-25, 2019 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The event will once again include what’s new and what’s on the horizon from Disney theme parks, television, music, products, and films – from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars.
The D23 Expo includes more than 50 shows, presentation, and panels including the Disney Legends Ceremony, a new exhibit from the Disney Archives, the Mousequerade costume contest, and much more.

Legendary Disney Imagineer Marty Sklar died Thursday, July 27, at age 83.
Sklar has a 54-year career with the Walt Disney Company, working closely with Walt Disney himself early in his career. He was named a Disney Legend in 2001 and will be remembered for his contributions to the Disney theme parks around the world.
Born on February 6, 1934, Marty Sklar was a student at UCLA when he was recruited to create The Disneyland News for Disneyland.

Disney California Adventure is getting a new super hero experience and an update to its Paradise Pier area in 2018!
During the Parks and Resorts panel at last weekend’s D23 Expo Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts gave attendees a peek at what’s coming to the Disneyland Resort.
First, the Paradise Pier area at Disney California Adventure will become Pixar Pier.

Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios announced the upcoming animated film slate at the D23 Expo on Friday.
The first film slated for release is Coco which arrives in theaters on November 22.
The film tells the story of Miguel, an aspiring musician whose family has banned music. Miguel finds himself in the Land of the Dead where he meets “charming trickster” Hector, and the duo sets off on a journey to find the story behind Miguel’s family history.

The 2017 D23 Expo starts today, but the Disney Parks have already unveiled the model for the Star Wars lands that are under construction at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The new totally immersive land will transport guests to a remote trading port on a never-before-seen planet.
The lands will feature two new attractions – one where guests take control of the Millennium Falcon and another where guests find themselves in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Fans attending this weekend’s D23 Expo will have a chance to visit a pop-up shop from Mickey’s of Glendale.
The store, Mickey’s of Glendale, is normally only open to Disney Imagineers and cast members, but the pop-up shop will be open to everyone and will feature an assortment of Disney Parks-inspired merchandise.
The pop-up’s merchandise includes camp shirts featuring artwork and patterns created with the symbols of Adventureland and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Other items include apparel honoring the 30th anniversary of Star Tours and more.
