Be Our Guest Restaurant to Serve Alcohol

14 September 2012 2 Comments

Our friends at The Disney Food Blog have brought some remarkable news – the Be Our Guest Restaurant opening in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort will be serving beer and wine. This will be the first time in Magic Kingdom history that alcohol is served at the park.

Stuart McGuire, Beverage Director, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, says:

As part of the overall theming, we wanted to offer wine that enhances the guest experience and complements the French-inspired cuisine.

The wine menu will feature selections primarily from France, including Champagne, Alsace, Loire, Burgundy, Rhone and Bordeaux. Meanwhile, the beer selection will feature a variety of Belgian beers as well as the leading French beer, Kronenbourg 1664.

Guests will only be allowed to consume beer or wine inside the restaurant, and it will not be available at counter-service lunch or to take with you into the park.

What do you think about this formerly “dry” park serving alcohol?

I think it’s a sad day that Magic Kingdom fell to the pressures or higher gross margins.

    Enough said.
