Disney Partners With Ocean Spray

Visitors to Disney Parks and properties will soon have a new snack option! Disney has announced that, in partnership with Ocean Spray, it will begin offering Craisins™ dried cranberry snacks in many retail locations around the parks, in resorts, and in conference centers.

“Disney will now offer Craisins Dried Cranberries at various retail locations, including theme parks, cruise ships, meeting rooms, and hotels,” said Ocean Spray. Guests will have access to the sweet-tart treats in salads, muffins, and at fruit stands and kiosks throughout Disney properties.

The cranberry snacks will be available at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, on board Disney Cruise Line ships, and at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. A co-branded version of the packaging will feature everyone’s favorite chipmunks, Chip and Dale.

  • I love Disney and have taken my family there on vacation 5 of the last 7 years, but I am concerned…. Why has Disney chosen to offer such an unhealthy snack to its patrons???

Craisins are approx. 80% SUGAR by weight. The Craisin process involves extracting cranberry concentrate from Cranberries, then pushing the extracted hulls (the outside cranberry skin) into a SUGAR syrup (a combination of Sugar, water, and a small qty of cranberry concentrate).

If you have ever eaten a Cranberry then you know they are tart… so why is a Craisin sweet…. SUGAR!
