Disney to Create Film Adaptation of ‘Peter and the Starcatchers’

Disney has hired Jesse Wigutow to adapt a screenplay for the best-selling children’s novel Peter and the Starcatchers, according to sources. The novel was also the inspiration for the current Broadway play Peter and the Starcatcher, which has garnered nine Tony award nominations.

The novel, co-authored by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, introduces us to the back story of the beloved character Peter Pan. It’s the first in a series of books by the authors.

Wigutow’s current work includes the film adaptation for Osterman Weekend, which is currently in development.
