Sunday, January 9, 2011 Disney will hold it’s annual Walt Disney World marathon. In a rare offer, Disney plans to give free park admission to those guests who cross the finish line. “Marathon Monday,” as the promotion has been dubbed, will allow finishers to bring their medals with them to receive a one-day free park admission on January 10, 2011. Currently the ticket price of a one-day park admission is $79 for adults, making “Marathon Monday” a great motivator for anyone interested in participating in the event.

In the past, the race has met capacity & has been a very popular marathon for both Central Florida residents and guests traveling from all over the country to participate. Another great incentive for marathon participants this coming year will be the ability for racers to vote on medal designs. Currently, Disney is featuring three different designs to vote on.

Tampa’s “Running Fitness Examiner” is reporting that “Registration for the marathon is $135 for this year’s race, $310 for those who participate in the Goofy Challenge by running the half on Saturday and the full on Sunday.
