Disneyland Closes Several Attractions to Prepare for ‘Pirates’ Premiere

In anticipation of next week’s Disneyland premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which takes place May 7, Disneyland park has closed several attractions to prepare for the star-studded event.

Work crews are already building a screen and seating area along Rivers of America for the outdoor premiere event, and five attractions were closed on Monday, including Sailing Ship Columbia, Mark Twain Riverboat, Tom Sawyer’s Island, Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes, and the Fantasmic! show. The attractions will remain closed until May 12, and Fantasmic! will reopen May 14.

While tickets for the event are sold out, guests can still snag a spot along the carpet on Main Street, U.S.A. to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.

The park will also have restricted hours for regular park goers the day of the event, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
