Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Will Debut in 3D in January

After the enormous success of Disney’s The Lion King in 3D, RealD Inc. and Walt Disney Pictures are celebrating the upcoming debut of another Disney classic – Beauty and the Beast, which will be released in 3D January 13.

As part of the release, limited edition RealD 3D kids’ glasses, which feature movie-themed colors and images of such iconic characters like Mrs. Pott’s, Chip and the Beast, will be distributed free of charge with every child’s ticket purchased when the film is released in theaters.

Says Dave Hollis, executive vice president of distribution at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Distribution:

The feedback we received from parents and kids alike on the ‘Lion King’ 3D program was extremely positive, so we’re thrilled to team up once again with RealD to make the family moviegoing experience even more special with these ‘Beauty and the Beast’ collectable 3D glasses.

The limited-edition themed 3D glasses are designed to fit children ages 8 and younger, but standard child and adult RealD 3D glasses will be available throughout theaters in North America as well.
