Disney’s Hollywood Studios Celebrates 25th Anniversary on May 1 with Special Events
The 25th anniversary celebration begins at 10 a.m. Thursday as Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse take the stage with Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vice President Dan Cockerell. They’ll be honoring some of the 25-year cast members in a short ceremony.
At 7 p.m. a special motorcade – Stars of the Studios – will make its way down Hollywood Boulevard and will feature famous characters from around the park. Mickey and Minnie will be joined by Darth Vader, Doc McStuffins, Wreck-It-Ralph, Sofia the First, and Captain Jack Sparrow.
After the motorcade there will be a dance party in front of the Sorcerer’s Hat, and then a special fireworks show will wrap up the celebration at 9:30 p.m.
The 25th anniversary celebration will also feature special commemorative merchandise and guests can also snack on a 25th anniversary Chocolate Nutella Cupcake at many of the park’s quick service dining locations.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios opened on May 1, 1989 and was called Disney-MGM Studios. The name was changed in 2008.
