Philly Newspaper D.A.R.E. Fundraiser Offers WDW Trip

PhillyBurbs.com is reporting that the local newspaper, Philadelphia  Courier Times, is having a fundraiser/contest to raise money for the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program in the local community with the prize being a trip for 4 to Walt Disney World, airfare included.  Anthony Petsis, president of the Newtown-based financial planning firm Anthony Petsis and Associates, donated the trip, which includes five nights at the Beach Club Villas.

The goal is to raise $5,000 for the program that had its funding cut last year, and the contest is as follows:

“In today’s paper, on page E3, a contest dares readers to scour a financial column in the advertisement, answer a question related to the column and send the answer along with an optional $5 donation to Newtown Township’s D.A.R.E. program.”

Regardless if you win or not, this is a wonderful motivator to raise money for a wonderful cause.  There is nothing in the article that says it is restricted to locals only for entering, and again, the small donation goes towards a wonderful cause!
