Re-Design Announced for Lobby at Walt Disney World Dolphin

dolphin lobbyThe Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort announced a $12 million re-design of the Dolphin’s lobby.

The redesign is being touted as the “final stage” of the current makeover at the resorts. The new lobby will be “completely transformed into a sleek contemporary space.”

The Swan and Dolphin have been going through a $140 million renovation project – the largest in the resort’s history. All of the guest rooms at both hotels have been updated as part of the project.

Manhattan design firm ICRAVE has created the concept for the new lobby and the iconic Dolphin fountain was an inspiration for the design.

The new lobby’s centerpiece will be a custom-made crystal chandelier that will use color-changing lighting technology. The lobby will also feature a geometric ceiling, increased lighting, contemporary décor, and two new food and beverage options including a bar.

The lobby will also feature a new quick service café and market with coffee, sandwiches, and snacks for guests.

The lobby redesign is slated to begin in the spring of 2017 and be completed by the fall. The Dolphin will remain open during the renovation.
