This Week in Disney News – Haunted Mansion Store, Villains Unleashed, and More Food and Wine Events

It’s that time again – time for our weekly Disney news recap. There was a lot of good news coming out of Disney this week, so let’s dig in!

Fans of the Haunted Mansion were happy to hear about the new themed shop opening this fall in the Magic Kingdom. The Haunted Mansion store will be housed in the former Yankee Trader location.
Both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have some great merchandise events planned for the month of August.

The Walt Disney Company and USAA Offering Veterans Institute Workshop in San Antonio

The Walt Disney Company recently announced that it is taking the Veterans Institute on the road.
On August 19 the Veterans Institute will be in San Antonio, Texas for the first of several regional workshops.
The San Antonio seminar is presented by USAA, a leading financial services provider for the military community and will feature experts from Disney’s Heroes Work Here initiative. Other speakers include government officials, veterans, and nonprofit veterans service organizations.

ABC News Anchor Bob Woodruff to Give a Keynote Address at Disney’s Veterans Institute Workshop

ABC News Anchor Bob Woodruff – who was injured in Iraq in 2006 – will give a keynote address at Disney’s first-ever Veterans Institute workshop next month.
The Veterans Institute workshop is a free event offered by Disney at the Walt Disney World Resort to inspire companies to employ servicemen and women who are transitioning to the private sector.
Woodruff was seriously injured by a roadside bomb on January 29, 2006 while reporting on U.S. and Iraqi security forces. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, but returned to ABC News just 13 …
