Disney announced today via the Disney Parks Blog that the tradition of Grad Nite will be discontinued at Walt Disney World parks after 2011. Grad Nites will continue to take place at Disneyland Resort in California, however.
The company states that it’s ending the longstanding tradition due to the increased number of guests who visit in the spring months of April and May, which presents a challenge in scheduling special events. In addition, more students are visiting Walt Disney World as part of their senior class trip, while others travel to the resort to take part in sporting events and performing arts programs.
In Florida, school groups will also continue to have access to special one-day, one-park tickets for $55, which are valid anytime throughout the year.
