Walt Disney World Resort to Win Award for Supporting the Arts

Americans for the Arts has just announced Walt Disney World Resort as one of the 10 best companies in the U.S. for its commitment to supporting the arts.

It’s easy to see why Walt Disney World Resort would win such a prestigious award; for almostĀ four decades, the company has worked to support and encourage the local arts community with donations such as the $12.5 million capital investment in the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts and the $565,000 in donations that went to benefit Disney Helping Kids Shine grants last year.

The company will be presented with the BCA 10: Best Companies Supporting the Arts in America for 2011 award on October 5 during a black-tie gala in New York City.
