Disney’s BoardWalk

Described as a “village on the water,” Disney’s BoardWalk offers shops, dining establishments and entertainment across 90,000 square feet of land surrounding Crescent Lake. This exciting venue is within close proximity to several hotels in the Walt Disney World Resort, and is also located very close to two Disney theme parks. The architecture and decor of Disney’s BoardWalk was modeled after the boardwalks that were popular during the turn of the 20th century, and the sherbet colored buildings, striped awnings and other accents pay testament to that fact.

When guests visit Disney’s BoardWalk, there will be plenty of fun to be had both day and night. During the day, visitors can stroll up and down the walkways visiting specialty shops, including those that sell exclusive Disney merchandise, ESPN and sports-themed apparel, unique souvenirs and other sundries as well as Wyland art. Visitors can also purchase swimwear, sunscreen, and other general merchandise.

During the evening, visitors can relax and enjoy a wide variety of nighttime entertainment, including live street performances, nightclubs, and a piano bar. Children can also partake of the evening entertainment by playing classic midway games, watching live street performances or eating a special snack from one of the nighttime food vendors. While there’s no admission to enter Disney’s BoardWalk, some venues may have a cover charge to get in. Also, the dance hall and piano bar are limited exclusively to guests 21 and up.

There are also plenty of dining options for visitors who want a delicious meal or special treat. Seashore Sweets, a unique store that specializes in saltwater taffy and delicious fudge, is great for families with a sweet tooth. There are also plenty of quick service and fast casual dining establishments, such as the family-friendly Big River Grille & Brewing Works, which is the only working brewpub at Walt Disney World Resort. Dining options range in price from less than $15 up to $60 or so per person, so it’s very easy to find a restaurant that matches your appetite and your budget.

Getting around Disney’s BoardWalk is also quick and convenient, and transportation is free for guests staying at any of the Walt Disney World Resorts. To travel to and from Disney’s BoardWalk Area, buses and boats are available, and is also within walking distance to Epcot theme park. For visitors who choose to drive, complimentary self-parking is available.

Disney’s BoardWalk offers an exciting, unique shopping, dining and entertainment experience for adults and children alike, and can be a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the theme parks for guests who want to relax and enjoy something a little more leisurely. Adults can dance the night away in special 21+ clubs, while families can enjoy a delicious meal and unique shopping experience during the day.
