Boys & Girls Clubs Learn About the Environment at Disney California Adventure

This past weekend, over 140 Boys & Girls Club children participated in environmental-focused activities in celebration of Earth Month.

The programs, which were part of the Disney Youth Education Series, took place on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at Disney California Adventure. Here, the children learned about protecting California’s environment, and the different ways they can help to conserve water and protect nature.

Finally, the kids were able to get up close and personal with various species of wildlife, including tarantulas, gopher snakes, hermit crabs, and sea stars, which were shared by the local nonprofit organizations Inside the Outdoors and the Ocean Institute. These activities enabled the kids to learn about the importance of ecosystems, as well as simple ways to protect nature and the environment in their day to day lives.
