Celebrate World Oceans Day with Nemo and Friends at Epcot

This June 8 is World Oceans Day, a global celebration of ocean conservation.  To mark the special occasion, Disney will host special events on June 8 at Walt Disney World.  Guests who visit Epcot on World Oceans Day should head over to The Seas with Nemo and Friends, where they can learn more about the world’s oceans, as well as the creatures that inhabit them.

During “Sea-nanigans,” guests of all ages have the opportunity to find out more about different ways that marine animals protect themselves from becoming lunch!  Adaptations that fish and other creatures use include camouflage, venom, and even false eyespots, which confuse predators, since they don’t know if their prey is coming or going.  This event will take place from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the attraction.  Guests will also learn about what and how much food that different marine creatures eat, and they’ll see that sharks, as the oceans’ top predator, hold a very special – not scary – place in the ocean circle of life.

Disney takes ocean conservation very seriously, contributing more than four million dollars to support the conservation of ocean wildlife through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.
