Dates for Disney’s Star Wars Weekends 2011 Announced

Fire up your landspeeders and set your course for Central Florida:  Disney has announced the official dates for Star Wars Weekends 2011!  You’ll be able to get your fill of all things Star Wars-related every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from May 20 through June 12 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The special celebration, marked by one of the largest gatherings of Star Wars characters anywhere, includes appearances by celebrities, trivia challenges, a Jedi Training Academy, opportunities to gather autographs and photos of your favorite stars, and lots of special merchandise.

While the entire lineup of guest spots is still pending, Disney did reveal that both Anthony Daniels and Ashley Eckstein  are scheduled to appear during the four-weekend event.  Daniels, who famously portrays persnickety droid C-3PO, will be on hand for weekends 1 (May 20-22) and 2 (May 27-29,) while Eckstein, who hails from Central Florida, will appear every weekend to host “Clone Wars:  Behind the Force.”  (You may recall that Ashley voices Ahsoka Tano in “Star Wars:  The Clone Wars.”

Fittingly, the first Star Wars Weekend also coincides with the reopening of the Star Tours attraction, which has been closed for renovation since last summer.

  • Rebekah, thanks for stopping by. The dates were published on the Disney Parks Blog on February 4. They are definitely available to the public. Hope this helps to clarify for you!
