Disney and Brown Bag Films Collaborate for ‘The Happy Hugglemonsters’

The award winning company Brown Bag Films, in collaboration with Disney, will be producing a new CG animation series to air on Disney Junior. The show, dubbed The Happy Hugglemonsters, is based on books by Irish author Niamh Sharkey.

The show will focus on Henry Hugglemonster, who is the middle child in a family of monsters, and will be directed by Norton Virgien, who worked on Rugrats.

Cathal Gaffney, CEO of Brown Bag Films, says:

We are delighted to announce the production of this series, it is great to work with home grown talent like Niamh Sharkey and to bring an original idea like this to a global Disney Junior audience is hugely satisfying for all involved. This series will see over 40 additional staff employed full time in Brown Bag Films over the coming 18 months and demonstrates how the creative economy has such an important role to play for Ireland.

Full production on the series is already underway, and as of this writing the show will debut in fall 2012.
