magic bandsMagicBands are the way of the World for guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, but now there’s a new option for those who purchase the retail MagicBands.

Any guest can purchase a retail MagicBand and use them during their visit to Walt Disney World – even if they aren’t guest of an “on property” hotel. These retail MagicBands can be linked at the time of purchase by using a valid theme park admission, Memory Maker card, or another active MagicBand.

And now there’s a new way to link the bands – the Link-It-Later option. With Link-It-Later guests can purchase the solid color MagicBands and then link them to a valid theme park admission at a later date.

Only the solid color bands can be used with this option, the themed MagicBands including the Haunted Mansion and Frozen bands cannot be used with Link-It-Later.

The Link-It-Later option for the MagicBands is available at retail locations at Walt Disney World in addition to Hotel Plaza Boulevard hotels in the Downtown Disney area, Disney liquidation stores in Florida, and the Disney merchandise stores at the Orlando International Airport.

In order to “link it later” guests can use their My Disney Experience account and link the MagicBands.
