3 June 2012 No Comment

We’re just a few months away from the start of the 2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival, and new details are coming in about this delicious event. New marketplaces, experiences, and more were recently announced for the annual festival, which recently extended its dates to September 28-November 12, 2012.

One of the Festival’s biggest highlights each year are the food and wine marketplaces representing different nations and themes that line World Showcase. This year, the Marketplace lineup will get two new additions, as a Florida Booth and a new vegan marketplace, TERRA, will join the Festival for the first time.

At the new TERRA marketplace, guests will be able to enjoy such innovative vegan dishes as Trik’n Chick’n Curry with Basmati Rice and Chili Colorado with House Made Chips and Cashew Cheese:

The new Florida Marketplace Booth will feature some fresh local dishes with an innovative twist, such as Florida Shrimp Ceviche with with Fire Roasted Veggies and Crispy Plantains:

To experience the Marketplace Booths in a different way, Disney will be offering a brand-new VIP Marketplace Chef Tour. The tour, which will take place on Wednesdays during the Festival, will be a walking tour of the World Showcase Booths with some of the Food and Wine Festival Chefs. In addition to getting some exclusive culinary secrets, attendees will be able to sample five dishes from the Festival and five beverage items (alcoholic drinks included).

This new tour will join many of the other existing annual special events at the Festival, including the nightly Eat to the Beat Concerts and the “3D” Disney’s Dessert Discovery, which will take place on select Fridays during the Festival. Also returning will be the popular Party for the Senses, which will be held this year on October 6, 13, 20, 27, and November 3. Bookings for these special events will begin on August 14, 2012, and can be made by calling 407/WDW-FEST (939-3378).
