“Personal Pantry” to Replace the Traditional In-room Mini-bar at Disney’s Swan & Dolphin Resorts
The day of the traditional mini-bar concept seems to be fading away, while the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts plan to offer a new, more personalized, way for guests to enjoy in-room snacks and beverages. Traditional pre-priced mini-bars haven’t been present in most Walt Disney World Resort hotels for years but the General Manager of the Swan and Dolphin is introducing a new concept called “Personal Pantry” that allows guests to custom order what fills their in-room mini-fridge.
“We’ve started a program that provides our guests with the value they’re looking for while traveling,” said Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort general manager Paul Scott. “They requested personalization and convenience at a fair price, and the Personal Pantry provides just that. To date, the response has been very positive.” (-Hotelworld Network)
Guests are able to order their selections at check-in or through the hotel room service staff, 24 hours a day. There will be no service or delivery charge to use the convenient program & items will be priced competitively compared to convenience stores. The “Personal Pantry” menu will include popular selections like cereals, chips, pretzels, cookies, milk, and a variety of beverages.

Unlike a mini-bar, I’m seriously considering ordering some Personal Pantry stuff during my December stay. The prices aren’t deadly, and it’s convenient (here’s a link to the ordering sheet http://www.swandolphin.com/accommodations/pantry.html).
This is a great idea. This was available as far back as Sept 09 when I stayed at the Dolphin. They also had an option where you can be texted to alert to any specials or activities going on at the resort at the moment. Dolphin is my resort of choice when visiting WDW.
Hedy, I’m with you, the prices are a bit high, but not once you factor in the convenience.
Paul, I’ve always been impressed by what you get for the money at the Swan & Dolphin. If you could pay with your key at the parks, it would be a slam dunk!

I’m with the others. The prices are a bit high, but for the convenience factor, I’d do this. I think it’s a great idea.
