‘Pirate and Princess Summer’ Programming Event set for Disney Junior Featuring ‘Sofia the First’ and ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’

Disney Junior is launching a multi-platform “Pirate and Princess Summer” programming event on Monday, June 10, including a daily telecast of Sofia the First.

Throughout the summer, new episodes of Sofia the First and Jake and the Never Land Pirates will premiere on alternating Fridays beginning June 14 and running through August 23 on the Disney Channel at 9 a.m. ET and on Disney Junior at 5 p.m. ET. Daily episodes of Sofia the First will air weekdays at 9:30 a.m. ET and 8:30 a.m. ET on weekends on the Disney Channel and again at 7 p.m. ET weekdays and 5:30 p.m. ET on weekends on Disney Junior.

Sofia the First will feature guest stars including Viola Davis (The Help), Megan Mullally (Will and Grace), while Jerry O’Connell (Crossing Jordan) will guest star on Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Disney Princess Jasmine also makes her debut on Sofia the First on June 14.

This special ‘Pirate and Princess Summer’ takes place on all Disney Junior digital platforms including Disney Junior on Demand, WATCH Disney Junior and iTunes. On DisneyJunior.com there will be a special game to unlock each week using a special token that will be shown during each episode’s premiere. Parents can also visit DisneyJunior.com/Summer starting June 14 and upload photos of their child dressed as a pirate or a princess. Some photos will be featured as the Pirate/Princess of the Day on Disney Junior.

A new product line of Sofia the First apparel, home décor, toys and more is also launching this summer at major national retailers, in addition to an expanded product line for Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
