sorcerershat2Now it’s time to say goodbye.

The iconic Sorcerer’s Hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be dismantled starting next week.

Disney announced last October that the hat would be removed, and the official date was confirmed on January 2.

The 122-foot-tall hat sits in front of The Great Movie Ride – which is housed in a replica of Grauman’s Chinese Theater and is undergoing a refurbishment of its own thanks to Turner Classic Movies.

The Sorcerer’s Hat has been the symbol of Disney’s Hollywood Studios since 2001, and has as many fans as it does detractors.

There is a souvenir store and Disney pin store underneath the hat, and the merchandise from the store will be moved to another location on Sunset Boulevard.

Workers will begin dismantling the hat on Wednesday so you still have a couple of days to snap one last photo.
